- Who
- Clinica Veterinară Lăbuța, a fictional two-vet practice in Giurgiu. Open six days a week, with an emergency line at night and on Sundays. Most clients are families with dogs and cats from the town and the nearby villages.
- The problem
- The phone rings all day with appointment requests, often while the vets are in a consultation.
- No online presence beyond a Facebook page, so new clients cannot find the clinic on Google.
- The same questions every day: what does a vaccination cost, when are you open, do you do grooming?
- After-hours emergencies: people do not know whether they can call or where to go.
- Goals
- Let clients request an appointment online, so the phone rings less.
- Show the services and indicative prices clearly, so fewer calls are about prices.
- Make the emergency line visible on every screen.
- Look trustworthy and calm: this is where people bring a sick pet.
- Be found on Google for “veterinar Giurgiu” and the clinic’s own name.
- Audience
- Pet owners in Giurgiu and the surrounding area, mostly on their phones
- New residents looking for a vet for the first time
- Existing clients checking hours, prices and the emergency number
- Budget
- Around €2,000–2,500 + VAT for the site, plus a small monthly budget for hosting and upkeep.
- Timeline
- Live within a month, before the spring vaccination season.
Example projectIllustrative example: not a real client
A website for a veterinary clinic, step by step
What a real project looks like from the first notes to the live site: the brief, our recommendation and quote, the wireframe, the final design and a working demo. Everything below is for a fictional clinic in Giurgiu, so you can see the process, not just an invoice.
Step 1 of 5
The brief: what the clinic told us
Every project starts with a 30-minute call. We write up what we hear as structured notes and send them back for confirmation before anything is quoted. These are the notes for our fictional clinic.
Step 2 of 5
Our recommendation and the quote
Starter would give the clinic a good one-page presence. The goals here need more: separate pages for the main services, a booking flow and local search work, so we recommended Business.
-
Service pages, not one long page
Vaccinations, sterilisation, dental care and grooming each get a page with what is included and an indicative price. That answers the daily questions and gives Google a page to show for each search.
-
Online booking and a visible emergency line
A booking form that lands in the clinic’s calendar, and the emergency number in the header on every screen, including on phones.
-
Local SEO from day one
Google Business Profile set up and linked, VeterinaryCare structured data, Search Console and a sitemap. Rankings depend on content and time, so we set that up honestly rather than promising a position.
If the budget had been tighter, we would have started with Starter (from €699 + VAT): the same booking form and emergency line on one well-built page, with service pages added later.

Step 3 of 5
The prototype: a wireframe of the whole site
Before any colour or imagery, the clinic sees a greyscale wireframe of every screen: what goes where, in what order, and what a visitor sees first on a phone.
What the client reviews at this stage
Changes at this stage are cheap: moving a section is a five-minute job. That is why we review structure before design.
- The order of the sections: booking and the emergency line first, then services and prices, then trust.
- What is above the fold on a phone, where most visitors will be.
- The booking flow: which fields, and what happens after sending.
- The words: service names, prices and the questions in the FAQ. Colour and photos come later.
Step 4 of 5
The final design
The same structure, now with the clinic’s identity: colours, type, illustrations and real copy. Use the toggle to compare the wireframe with the final design.
-
Colours chosen for trust and calm
A soft teal with warm neutrals, not the red of an emergency room. The one warm accent is reserved for the emergency line, so it stands out without shouting.
-
Large tap targets for booking
The “Book a consultation” button is the biggest element on the page and at least 56px tall, comfortable to hit with a thumb on a phone.
-
The emergency number always visible
It sits in the header on every screen, as a click-to-call link, so nobody has to scroll or search while their pet is unwell.
-
Light, fast and honest imagery
Simple SVG illustrations instead of stock photos: nothing heavy to download, and clearly named slots for the clinic’s own photos when it has them.
Step 5 of 5
Launch and the live demo
The demo is a real, self-contained page, built the way we would build the clinic’s site. Open it, tap through it on your phone, and measure it yourself.
We publish performance targets, not promises: the link opens Google’s PageSpeed Insights with the demo’s address filled in, so you can run the test yourself.
What happens after launch
-
The Care plan
Hosting, SSL, backups, updates and monitoring, plus up to an hour of changes a month: new prices, a new vet, a seasonal notice.
-
Google Business Profile
Set up and linked to the site, with hours, services and the emergency number, so the clinic appears on the map for local searches.
-
Reviews
A short link the clinic can send to happy clients after a visit. Real reviews, over time, do more for local ranking than anything on the site itself.
-
A monthly check
Speed, search visibility and broken links, with a short note on what changed and what to do next.
The demo is marked as fictional and is not indexed by search engines, so it never competes with a real clinic.
Questions about a clinic website
What owners of clinics and practices ask us before a call.
How much does a website for a veterinary clinic cost?
In this example, a Business site with service pages, online booking and local SEO is €1,999 + VAT, or about €2,801 + VAT for the first year with the domain, the Care plan and a free booking tool. A simpler one-page site starts at €699 + VAT with the Starter package. The fixed price for your clinic is agreed after a 30-minute call.
Can clients book appointments online?
Yes. The demo shows a booking form that would land in the clinic’s calendar and send a confirmation. Depending on the clinic, we connect a free tool such as Cal.com, an existing practice-management system or a simple email-based request.
How long does it take?
About three weeks for a Business site like this one, from the confirmed brief to launch, including writing the copy and preparing the illustrations. A Starter site takes about a week.
Is this a real clinic?
No. Clinica Veterinară Lăbuța is invented for this walkthrough: the people, address, phone number and prices are placeholders. The process, the packages and the prices we quote are real.
Want something like this for your business?
A clinic, a pet shop, a workshop or a practice: the process is the same. Book a 30-minute call and you get an honest recommendation and a fixed quote afterwards.
Calls are in English, with Romanian support on request.
